Hello, my name is Emma Connolly, welcome to my store.

I live in Bedfordshire and work from my garden studio where I create small batch functional pottery, abstract art and porcelain jewellery incorporating semi precious and precious stones.

A little about my process: My ceramics are influenced by my garden, the hedgerows and the weather, typically British I know. Each piece of pottery is hand built at a slow and considered pace and no two pieces are the same. I use seed heads and pressed flowers to create patterns in the clay. I also carve the designs of wild flowers and birds and make fine porcelain flowers. My work is subtle and feminine with a very delicate colour palette of off whites and dusky pinks. My ceramic jewellery is also inspired by flowers and textures in nature.

My paintings are contemporary abstract influenced by the Suffolk sky, wild flowers, water and the reflection of light. I paint in oils using my fingers and I like to use a calm palette with hints of depth but also with a softness.

A little about me: I have always loved creating beautiful things and have many feathers in my hat! I trained as a florist, ceramicist and in interior design. And in the very early days I owned a salon and was a hairdressing lecturer. I have a passion for photography, styling and flowers. I work as a full time artist and I just love the freedom it brings!

I enjoy working on my garden and growing flowers, the whole process grounds me and gives me absolute joy. I sell flowers at my garden gate, keep hens and spend a lot of time daydreaming.

I hope you enjoy browsing my store.
